In response to the Government’s initiative allowing prescriptions to be issued for up to 12 months, St Albans Medical Centre has introduced a practice policy to ensure patient safety, continuity of care, legal compliance, equity, and efficient workflows.

These changes will take effect from 1 February 2026, following review with your GP.

Please book a consultation with your GP to discuss the most appropriate prescribing duration for your medication.

We would like to reassure our patients that our practice management systems, Indici and MyIndici, have not been affected by the MMH incident.

If you have been affected, MMH will contact you directly. If you would like to discuss this matter with our practice, please email practicemanager@stalbansmc.co.nz.

If you have historic medical records stored in MMH, you can log in using your previous account details and request that your account be closed. Please note that closing your account will permanently delete all personal records stored in MMH.

Patient Fees Update
Please note that from Monday 5th January, we made a small adjustment to our patient fees. While we always strive to keep fee increases to a minimum, this change is necessary to help us keep pace with rising operational and running costs, and to continue providing the high standard of care and service you expect from us. We truly appreciate your ongoing support and understanding.

St Albans Medical Centre is a purpose built medical centre providing healthcare to the local community for 45+ years. Our doctors work with dedicated 1: 1 nurses to provide a high level of care and continuity for you and your family, with the benefits of a group practice.

New Patient Enrolment

To maintain safe, high-quality care for our community, we are currently accepting new enrolments based on priority due to limited capacity.
We are prioritising enrolments for:

  • New arrivals to Christchurch who do not yet have a local GP
  • Residents in the immediate practice area

If you believe you meet these criteria, please call our reception team on 03 355 9119 to discuss enrolment.
Please note: All new enrolments are subject to capacity at the time of enquiry.
